It has been one of the most hummed-along-to theme tunes on British television for the past 25 years.
But now it has been revealed that TV bosses are to scrap the well-known music for The Bill, because it is not dramatic enough.
The familiar tune, accompanied by the sight of two constables feet as they patrol a street, has been a feature of TV viewing for two-and-a-half decades.
Instead now programme-makers have decided to revamp the music and have a new composition which 'slows you down a bit' and helps you concentrate.

The show is being relaunched in a 9pm slot, but has been slashed back from two episodes a week to just one, as part of the broadcaster's cost-cutting.
As it is now airing in a post-watershed slot the drama is set to become much grittier, but there are concerns it will alienate long-time fans of the show.
A number of the actors have also been dropped including Graham Cole, who plays PC Tony Stamp, who has been on the show for 22 years.
Programme-makers are to cut down on the dialogue, introduce incidental music as well as scrap the current theme tune when it relaunches later this month.

Executive producer Johnathan Young said: 'We want the new theme music to get the audience to concentrate a bit more and focus.
'It will be something that slows you down a bit and prepares you for something a bit more emotional.'
While the title sequences have changed over the years the music, called Overkill, has remained although it has been the subject of different arrangements.
It was written by Andy Pask and Charlie Morgan after Rick Wakeman was said to have turned down the opportunity to write the theme tune.

Mr Young claimed the show would now spend less time on storytelling -� like how a crime was committed and how it was solved.
Instead it will focus more on why it was perpetrated and the impact it has had on the police, victims and criminals.
The Bill producers are insisting the show will still be family viewing, but fans of the show are concerned the new format will ruin their enjoyment.
Young told Broadcast magazine: 'There is nothing we will deal with at 9pm that we wouldn't have dealt with at 8pm.
'We are very conscious The Bill has a strong family following and we hope the new version will be something they can watch.
'There will be no bad language, sex or violence.'
There are also swingeing job losses on the programme with the 180-strong production team on the show halved.
The changes are being made as a result of ITV's cash crisis with the number of episodes per year being reduced from 96 to 52.
